If you are in a DESPERATE situation go with this company and then SWITCH at your EARLIEST convenience. Do not get comfortable with this stepping stone company bc it will cost you in the long run. I’ve been a customer for 2 years bc I felt it was convenient at the time & continued to settle. They offer far less than they originally did 2 yrs ago & now only offer prepaid. There’s a bug on their website so they don’t even allow you to see your most recent statements. I just spoke to 3 people in 1 hour & even the supervisor told me there’s no difference in the 12 mo. contract than the month to month outside the early termination fee. This company doesn’t care about retention bc they take advantage of desperate customers. Learn how electricity costs & pricing work. There’s so many hidden fees that providers are vague & secretive about. Lots of agents don’t even understand it themselves but will try to convince you to lock in to a pointless contract to distract you from their ignorance. You & your money is valuable. Remember that.

Response: Hi there, Chelsea, and thank you for contacting us about your recent billing concerns. We understand that seeing a billing like this is concerning, and we would be more than happy to assist you. As the weather outsides becomes cooler, especially as cold as it has been recently, customers will find a spike in billing because appliances have to work harder against the cold outside. A breakdown of your billing can be found on the My Account Portal. Response: Hello Tiffara, and thank you for contacting us about this issue. We understand how alarming it may be to receive a $14 charge in the span of less than 24 hours, and we are happy to assist you. Keep in mind that Payless Power's billing is 2 days in arrears, meaning the $14 billing you saw was from usage two days ago, not from the day prior. Also keep in mind that, during the time of winter weather, customers may see an increase in their overall consumption, thus leading to higher-than-average billing. This is because your appliances work harder against decreasing temperatures outside, which means they use more energy. For further insight on your electricity consumption, we recommend using smartmetertexas.com for a breakdown to15-minute interval. If you have any further questions for us, please feel free to reach out to 1-888-963-9363 Published on January 17, 2025

Rates seem to get higher and higher every day.

Response: Hi Shinteria, thanks for contacting us! We understand that you have concerns with your rates and billing. We definitely understand why you would be concerned about a rate increase; however, you are on a fixed-rate plan, so there is no increase in your rate. What has increased is your overall electricity usage, something many customers are experiencing right now due to the recent decrease in temperature. When it gets cold, appliances like heaters must work harder against the chill to keep a household warm. We recommend keeping track of your usage at smartmetertexas.com , and if you have any further questions or concerns, you may reach out to us at 1-888-963-9363 Published on January 17, 2025
