We have plans to support you and your energy needs
First Choice Power has been serving Texan residents and businesses for 70 years. After the 2002 Texas deregulation, it has grown its prominence as a retail electricity provider. First Choice offers fixed budget-friendly rates, variable rates, and green energy plans that last up to 3 years.
Moreover, First Choice Power is one of the largest energy retailers in North America, since it was incorporated into Direct Energy in 2011. With First Choice, satisfaction is guaranteed. They give you the liberty to try different power plans within the first thirty days of use without a fee.
How does First Choice Power work?
First Choice Power serves both businesses and residents. However, their work varies depending on the client. Suffice to say, the service discharged for a home will not be similar to the one for a business. Also, First Choice electricity comes with different plans.
For businesses, First Choice delivers electricity through direct energy. The business plans are customized to fit every need. They can be long term deals offered at affordable rates. For a home, the program can be month-month or short-term contracts.
Further, First Choice has the green energy plan offered to the customer as an option. Should you choose it, First Choice Power shall draw power from renewable sources and channel it into your home or business. If you also want to change your servicer, you can shift with no charges. If your account is still charged, they will coordinate with your new servicer and transfer them. So there is no loss!
First Choice Power Prepaid Electricity
Prepaid electricity or the pay as you go plan is the most convenient way of being a Texas First Choice Power client. It’s a flexible mode, and you don’t have to pay deposits, issue checks, or sign a long-term contract. You only pay for electricity if you want to use it.
Once you have charged your account, you won’t get monthly bills. Instead of the statements, you get alerts on your electricity usage on your mobile phone and they also show your charge balance. First Choice Power vests a powerful tool in your arsenal to help you manage power consumption.
Should you run out of charge, what happens?
If your charge is on the verge of depletion, First Choice shall give you an electronic notification. The notifications show the remaining balance and an approximation of how long it will last. However, the estimated duration is not to be relied on since electricity needs can change. It’s imperative that you top up your account, should your balance below.
First Choice Power will request TDU to interrupt your energy supply if your balance reads $0.00. Under such circumstances replenishing your credit will have your power restored.
This plan’s terms are that First Choice Power shall supply electricity at a fixed rate for 36 months. The rates are always at $0.106 / kWh, even if the market rate changes.
This deal comes at a fixed electricity rate for 12 months for electricity consumption from 9 pm to 7 am. The rate per unit is usually $0.128 / kWh.
With this deal, you get renewable power for your home or business. It usually lasts for twelve months, and the rate is fixed at $0.109 / kWh up to the end.
Should you choose this plan, you will not be required to pay for the electricity you use on weekends. The deal lasts for 24 months, and it’s fixed at a $0.107 / kWh rate.
The transmission comes in handy when signing up with First Choice Power. For this reason, specific fee amounts are necessary. Also, First Choice Power doesn’t manage the energy grid, responsible for the energy distribution. TDU performs all these errands. The TDU charges incurred are designated on blackout fixes and electricity upkeep. First Choice Power passes through the TDU charges, and assesses their validity. Subsequently, it gives the costs to you, which are on average 50% of your monthly spending.
The First Choice Power review from Choose Energy is a 3.8 out of 5. The review is based on online accessibility, customer service, and business history.
On customer services, which are based on P2C complaint score, First Choice Power has scored four stars while customer satisfaction is at 5 stars.
Despite the fact First Choice Power is not accredited by the better business bureau (BBB), it boasts 2.5 stars out of 5. Also, its business history is spotless, and it has been in the game for 70 years. It’s justified to be called a veteran in the deregulated business.
