I live in a small trailer and I’ve recently started being charger 16-20 dollars per day for electricity. I turned the heat down to 72, lights stay off all day. It used to be about 5-8 dollars a day. I had to get a deferred payment plan and I plan on switching companies asap.
Response: Cheyenne, This winter weather we have been experiencing has been unusually cold and because of that, even if you keep your house at 72, your heater is having to work harder than normal to keep it at that temperature because of the extreme temperatures outside. I am Not sure what the scale of Kilowatts ready is used with this company or should I say what the per kilowatt rates is billed at.
Lately my usage cost has been all over the place. Can’t get a straight forward answer from this so Called customer friendly App Nor the life telephone customer reps either… I have used Payless for more thank 15- months and have now started having issues with the rates since they supposedly updated their billing system… I give them One Star for past usages but a Zero Star for current performance…

During the middle of December, not only did we have a new customer system put in place, but we had True Ups coming through as well, which made the customer traffic very heavy. At first it was all good but since they recently changed a lot of things my daily usage been very high. They over charge me for not being at my house. Everything is unplugged and turned off an yet my daily usage still higher then when I am using it.

Wished o coul give you all a zero. How does my account for from 35.00 to 4.38 in 2 days. We do not use that much energy. Seems like the more money I load onto this account the more you all charge me daily.

Horrible horrible horrible I feel like I’m gettin robes from this company and there is nothing I can do about it. Their system is horrible when you call in there is on avg 50 calls holding and no one that works 8-5 m-f can afford to wait that long. Call back option clearly does not work. This is just bad business all the way around. I’m avg 20kwh and it says my avg 7.09 ridiculous I’m glad my new service will kick in soon. New Payless Power 0 stars

This company is such a rip off! They charge you for random stuff they make up on the way and state they under charged you! If you understand the system they work with they charge you by day for electricity and they send you text notifications saying how much kw you used for the date before but then They charge you for electricity from weeks or even months ago n say whoops we charged u wrong. Here’s an inconvenience for you now we wiped out ur account and you are now NEGATIVE $$$. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I spent $60 in 3 days because of “unknown charges “ currently looking into DIFFERENT company! I will post this on my social media as I have a HUGEEE following and will warn everyone I know about how awful this so called company really is!
Response: Erica, We are sorry for any type of confusion. All of our charges are completely normal, and there is definitely no "random" or "make up" charges. Periodically, there will be a True Up, which we work with the meter reads to make sure each person is billed for what they actually used. Sometimes the meter read will require an additional charge from the customer in the event they were undercharged, and sometimes the meter read will require a credit to the customer in the event they were overcharged. One piece of information we want to share with everyone is that when you keep an account balance of $35 or more, you actually receive a 20% discount on your daily usage, which helps your account balance last longer! I absolutely hate the new way Payless Power is handling the accounts now and billing is confusing and not consistent. They are constantly messing up. Also, your minimum payment when your account was negative was the negative amount plus $10 when did it change to the negative amount plus $35. Customer service when you call doesn’t have a clue. I’m very dissatisfied I give them one star because it wouldn’t allow me to choose none.

Don’t ever use this company…. Just like all the other reviews and warnings that I saw and ignored,I got a text message saying that my bill had suddenly gone from around $13 to a negative $45 and suddenly I am being charged around $10 a day when it used to be $4 to $5 a day. Times 30 days that is$300 a month for a small apartment… Their excuse is that they were guessing how much I was using because they weren’t really reading the meter correctly…. I don’t see how this is my fault and there is no way that I am using that much everyday when nothing has changed. I went ahead and paid my extremely overdue balance of $85 now plus the minimum amount to put me back at $35 this should give me enough time to find a new electricity provider. These guys are Crooks I don’t see how they are still in business. I thought all of the reviews we’re just people that were angry about something and wanted the company to look bad but they are all legit trust me on this!!!

Periodically, True-Ups take place, where we either credit or debit your account based on electricity that was actually used. When your balance changes dramatically, it is often due to weather. When the temperatures drop, your heater works extra to keep your home warm. When the weather heats up, your A/C works extra to keep your home cool. If I could give a zero I would. Y’all send me the same message multiple times and I’m getting 2 to 3 times the amount of text messages than I use to. Y’all just woke me up with the 4th message of the same exact thing. I can not wait to get a new electric company. Since y’all got this new program or whatever it has been horrible. Even if I had never of had y’all before I would still hate your system. Fix it and fix it quit or y’all are going to lose more than me with it.
