Rates have continued to go up, $12.00 a day is excessive; that is with “20% discount.”
Powertochoose.org. Looking at new companies.
Response: MaryAnn, We are sorry that you feel our rates keep going up. Our rates have not changed, but the weather certainly has. Because of the unusually cold winter we are having in the area, it causes your home's heater to work even harder, regardless of how little you use it. At Payless Power, we only bill for what the meter reads, just like other electric companies.
I been getting inaccurate information on my account and have been trying to get ahold of the company for days now they have turned off my service and my balance continues to go up litterally within two hours which is unbelievable I have small children in my home and I have no electricity/heat and are still not able to get ahold of anyone to make payment arrangements
Response: Cristian, Were you able to finally speak with one of our customer service representatives? If not, we would love to speak with you. Please call us at 888-963-9363. Payless Power can only bill for what the meter reads, so if you think something is inaccurate, you can register your meter at www.smartmetertexas.com to see more in depth details.
I’ve used these company for years..recently the prices have more than trippled..I will be looking for another company
Response: Cheryl, We hope that you will continue to give us a chance to keep you as a customer. Due to the harsh winter we have had to endure, many peoples' usage has increased, even when using the heater sporadically as it is increasingly difficult for the heater to work efficiently. Payless Power is only able to bill for what the meter reads. If you would like more detail about your meter, you can register it at www.smartmetertexas.com. Again, we hope this helps!
I have already submitted 1 review and never heard anything back NOR do I see it on here. I put 50 dollars this morning and was charged about 20 dollars for my usage yesterday. This has been going on for the past several weeks. I understand it’s been cold but I have kept my heater at 72 and I live in a small trailer. There is no way we are using 100-144 kw per day. You can save the excuse of oh well most people aren’t use to the colder temps. I would understand it going up a little but I ran my a.c. constantly in the summer and was around $7 per day. Again I live in a small trailer. $20 per day is close to $600 per month. That’s insane and I will be switching companies immediately. I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone.
Response: I'm sorry for the inconvenience. A supervisor will be in contact with you to discuss your issue. You may also call us at 888-963-9363 if you need any further assistance.
This is the worst company I havr dealt with. You csn never get thru the lune unless its the sales side and they dont respond to emails. My kilowatt usage was higher when ni ine was home than when we were home all day. How is that possible. No one ever called to discuss my concerns so I am leaving this company and will spread the word to everyone I know to not do business with your company.
Response: Patrice, We apologize for the long wait time you experienced when calling in to speak with customer service. Due to the unusually cold temperatures as well as the True Up period, our call volume was very high. Your kwh usage was likely higher than normal due to the very cold temperatures...even if you keep your heater running sporadically, it is more difficult for it to heat your home the colder it gets. We hope you will give us another chance, and if you would like to discuss your account in more detail, please call us at 888-963-9363.
At first i really liked this company, but now it seems like they are over charging me i live in a small 2 bedroom duplex and im hardly ever there so there is no way in hell im using that much in a day. $10 a day is ridiculous! I can never get someone on the phone. Ever thinking about switching soon!!
Response: Hi Hailey, We apologize about the long wait time you experienced on the phone. Due to the extreme temperatures, other people have also been concerned about their daily usage. With the temperatures getting back to normal, we hope you see a difference in your usage. Remember, Payless Power can only bill based on meter reads, just like other electric companies. If you would like more details about your meter, you can register it at www.smartmetertexas.com!
I’ve been with y’all awhile now and my usage has never been over $3.00. I haven’t even been staying at home and it’s using $6.00. I’m about to switch electric company’s it’s ridiculous
Response: Sarah, The extreme temperature swings we have been experiencing have caused many peoples' usage to increase, as it requires more work for the heater to keep your home warm, as well as the other items you may have plugged in to outlets, even if they aren't powered on. We hope that once the normal temperatures return, you will see a difference!
Don’t do it RUN!!!!!…… Before you get stuck with this company, over pricing, charging people an arm and a leg. Im almost paying $20 a day ITS A SCAM DONT DO IT!!!!!!
Response: Roberta, Payless Power is only allowed to bill what your meter reads, just like every other electric company. If you would like, you can call us at 888-963-9363 to review your past usage, or you can also register your meter at www.smartmetertexas.com and see more in depth information about your meter reads. We hope this helps!
The new changes that were brought are increasing the prices at an extreme rate, i am paying $10/day right now and i feel like i am being robbed. I have paid in excess of $150 for the last month. Worst Electric Service ever.
Response: Edis, We are sorry that you think our new changes are increasing the rates on our plans. Our new customer portal, messages, emails and plans are designed to actually be better than ever before! The substantially colder temperatures than normal are causing many people to have higher daily charges as it's becoming more difficult for the heater to keep your home warm. Once temperatures get back to normal, you should see a big difference in your savings, especially if you keep your account balance at $35...because when you do, you automatically get a 20% savings!
I live in a small trailer and I’ve recently started being charger 16-20 dollars per day for electricity. I turned the heat down to 72, lights stay off all day. It used to be about 5-8 dollars a day. I had to get a deferred payment plan and I plan on switching companies asap.
Response: Cheyenne, This winter weather we have been experiencing has been unusually cold and because of that, even if you keep your house at 72, your heater is having to work harder than normal to keep it at that temperature because of the extreme temperatures outside. Once the weather gets back to normal, you should see your normal usage come back. We hope you will consider staying with us!
