CONS: money is taken out when they feel they may have made a mistake. When you are past the $35 mark they take more money out then when it is over $35.

I had never used a pre-paid energy service. About 2-3 years ago, I needed something quick, fast, and easy – I decided to try payless power.
I’ve used them ever since.
You really cant beat the service that payless provides: 1) just about every morning around 7am, I receive a text which states my usage and remaining balance 2) easy to make payments 3) payment extensions are a lifesaver
I’ve read some bad reviews, but I’ve honestly never had a bad experience; the amount of notice and help really do make you feel like a valued customer.
I couldn’t imagine switching as I have really enjoyed the convenience of paying as you go…

The service was nice at first but now this is getting ridiculous. I have managed to keep it between 4 to 5 dollars a day now all of a sudden I’m using 10 to 12 dollars a day?! What I was doing with my lights has not changed. I use the same routine over and over. Very unsatisfied and starting to think I am wasting my hard earned money. I’ll be looking into another electric company. Also not a fan of how you guys bill two days late.

This can result in drastic changes in your daily usage even if you do not touch your thermostat. The hotter it is outside the longer and harder your AC will have run to compensate. I wish i could give 0 stars. Customer service is horrible. No people skills at all. All they say is they’re sorry and they cant do anything. They don’t have their info straight. When did the rates change!?!?!?! I wasn’t notified. Funny they changed at summer time. Price gouging at it’s finest. Will be looking for a different provider if Payless Power doesn’t get they’re act together or provide good rates. Other companies have better deals.

Awesome! Love getting a daily text of what I am spend. Sometimes not always it’s a game to see how low I can get my daily bill. I can pay 20 dollars or 120 whatever I have to do to keep my power on and when your broke that helps a lot. Thank you Payless Power you are awesome! I have no complaints.

Last year Payless power was wonderful I told a lot of people about Payless power this year there charging me more per kWh you would think for being a customer they would give you a good rate this year I wouldn’t recommend Payless power when I find a good rate I will change unless Payless power takes care of there customers

It is true that you were paying a slightly cheaper rate back in 2015 when your service began. The rates have increased a bit since then because wholesale costs in Texas have increased. Even though the rates changed, we also eliminated all minimum usage fees and reduced the daily customer fee from .$50 per day to $.33 per day.
