Response: Hello Tiffara, and thank you for contacting us about this issue. We understand how alarming it may be to receive a $14 charge in the span of less than 24 hours, and we are happy to assist you. Keep in mind that Payless Power's billing is 2 days in arrears, meaning the $14 billing you saw was from usage two days ago, not from the day prior. Also keep in mind that, during the time of winter weather, customers may see an increase in their overall consumption, thus leading to higher-than-average billing. This is because your appliances work harder against decreasing temperatures outside, which means they use more energy. For further insight on your electricity consumption, we recommend using smartmetertexas.com for a breakdown to15-minute interval. If you have any further questions for us, please feel free to reach out to 1-888-963-9363 Published on January 17, 2025

Response: Hi Shinteria, thanks for contacting us! We understand that you have concerns with your rates and billing. We definitely understand why you would be concerned about a rate increase; however, you are on a fixed-rate plan, so there is no increase in your rate. What has increased is your overall electricity usage, something many customers are experiencing right now due to the recent decrease in temperature. When it gets cold, appliances like heaters must work harder against the chill to keep a household warm. We recommend keeping track of your usage at smartmetertexas.com , and if you have any further questions or concerns, you may reach out to us at 1-888-963-9363 Published on January 17, 2025

It’s way to high I have put a lot on the light in less than two weeks when I could of save money and pay only $200 or less on monthly bill. Your rate needs to go down more this is Ridiculous.

Response: Thanks for reaching out to us, Shona. We understand you may have some concerns with your electricity billing and would be more than happy to bring clarity to your recent charges. Texas overall is seeing it's overall temperature dip as the winter weather finally sets in for the state, and all customers may feel the effects on their energy bill, especially if a heater becomes involved. While your charges may seem high, switching to a monthly provider will not solve the issue, as your bill is based of your overall consumption, and high consumption means high billing regardless of provider. If you have any further questions about your usage and billing, the My Account portal will provide a breakdown of any billing date, and you can even use smartmetertexas.com for a 15-minute breakdown of what you use. You can also reach out to us at 1-888-963-9363 Published on January 17, 2025
