How to Reduce Transportation Costs!

Summer usually means traveling, and we understand that the cost of travel can certainly add up, especially when you are traveling via car. Most people don’t take the cost of gas into consideration before a long car ride, but if you are traveling long distances, gas prices can hurt your wallet! And while we know this isn’t an electricity-related post, we hope this post can help reduce energy spending and save you money!

1. Walk or Bike Whenever Possible!

Walking or biking is not an option for everyone, but if you are able, we recommend walking or biking to the grocery store or to run your errands. Not only is this better for the environment, but you won’t be spending as much time in your car, running through gasoline!

2. Carpool!

Family outing to the beach? Avoid taking several cars! Also, if you live near coworkers, consider recruiting a group to carpool to work each morning!

3. Remove Wind-Resistant Items

Bike racks and roof racks are great, but they cause wind resistance, which reduces your vehicles efficiency, and increases fuel usage. When not in use, remove bike and roof racks from your car.

4. Service Your Car Regularly

When your car isn’t running well, it burns more fuel. Getting regular services on your vehicle will help it run as efficiently as possible.
