Very unsatisfied customer. I’m paying $20 a day for an apartment. I have unplugged as much as I can and this is beyond unacceptable and by far the worst experience.
Response: Ms. Gonzalez- I was able to find an account for you but it closed in 2019. Please call us at 888 963 9363 so we can assist with your concerns. Published on February 19, 2024
I’m trying to speak with payless power but for the 2 day the lines are busy. Now my lights are being disconnected
Response: Ms Peoples- Thank you for your patience. There were lengthy wait times on January 20 due to the massive amounts of customers affected by the artic blast. Our records show that you were able to receive assistance. Published on February 19, 2024
NO STARS PERIOD!! WORST COMPANY EVER !!! They raise the kwh usage 1000%. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;!;
Response: Ms Richardson- Our records show that you were under a fixed rate plan with a 12-month contract. Payless Power did not raiser your rates or your usage. However, cold weather like we experienced the weekend of January 20th will usually result in sharp increases in electricity usage. When, you see news stories during cold weather about ERCOT asking the public to conserve energy , it’s a reflection of what’s going on in homes across the state. It takes a lot of extra energy to warm a home during extreme cold spells. I’ve reviewed your usage and can see why you would be alarmed . it was very, very high. You may want to have an HVAC tech inspect your heating system and also, please avoid using the auxiliary heat setting on your thermostat if possible. Heating strips in a 2 stage heat pump consume about 3X the energy as the normal heat setting . Published on February 19, 2024
Payless power charges customers when the power and meter are not even running. I got charged daily when centerpoint had my power completely off from the main. False billing
Response: Ms Baker- Your comments state that you were billed when your power was off . Our records do show that we opened a billing review on your behalf which confirmed that there were estimated meter reads generated as a result of your power being shut off due to work occurring at the home. An adjustment has been made based on this. Please call us at 888 963 9363 if you have any further concerns. Published on February 19, 2024
I have tried for 2 days to reach customer service…IMPOSSIBLE. All I get are busy signals or recordings.
Response: Ms Redwine- we do apologize for the inconvenience surrounding wait times during the January cold spell. My records do show that you were able to receive assistance. Wait times now average around 2 minutes. 888 963 9363 Published on February 19, 2024
It’s not terrible so far, except the $1 74 a day fee. That’s $54 a month. That’s a weeks worth of electricity at our place. I didn’t see that when signing up. Probably my fault, or they keep it hidden for a reason.
Response: Mr Thomson- Than you for your reply. I was not able to locate your account using your email. Please call us at 888 963 9363 and we will be happy to review your account with you. Published on February 19, 2024
This company has outrageous fluctuating prices. Your bill will increase when it’s hot or cold so throughout the year you will pay more and more with this company. Customer service will not assist or commend loyalty but only narrate the issue instead of accommodating. Overall this was the worse experience with an electricity company.
Response: Mr Dolan- You comments state that you feel Payless Power raises rates when it gets very cold and very hot and then will not accommodate your requests for assistance or billing adjustments. Its understandable why you might feel this way, but your rates do not fluctuate as you are on a fixed rate plan. Your charges fluctuate when it gets hot or cold, but your energy usage increases during those time . Its ok to be skeptical of this but you can audit this by registering free of charge at www.smartmetertexas.com. This is a free site operated by the State of Texas that allows you to see your daily meter reads at the same time the electric provider receives them . It’s not affiliated with Payless Power but you can use resister for this site with information that we provide on my account portal. Call us at 888 963 9363 for assistance. Absolutely terrible experience with Payless power. Switch to any other provider if you can. Payless has terrible rates and bad customer service.
Response: Mr Reinwhr- The rate that you had with Payless Power was one of the best in Texas however at the time of your review North Texas was in one of the coldest times in the past 2 years. Extreme weather results in more energy used to keep your home comfortable. Daily billing shows the real cost of this whereas monthly billing averages out the cold days with milder days by the time you see the bill. You can always audit your usage at www.smatmetertexas.com and call us for more information 888 963 9363. Published on February 19, 2024
Locked my account when I was trying to make a payment. Tried to call customer service 4 different times today and always go a busy signal. Worst service ever and I’ve payed almost $60 for 2 days of electricity and I don’t even have Central A/C. I would give it 0 stars if I could.
Response: Mr Smith- We apologize for the convenience. Our records show that you did experience issues with your card at the time of your review however this was rectified . Thank you for your patience. Published on February 19, 2024
It’s an easy company to sign up..but they don’t have any services to help there customers..there rates are ridiculous high every week you have a different rate that you pay ..I feel it is not worth it.i wouldn’t recommend to get lights through this company
Response: Alissia- Thank you for expressing your concerns. Please call us at 888 963 9363 and we can go over your rates as well as your daily charges. You are under a fixed rate plan and your energy rate does not fluctuate. If you review your itemized invoices on your MyAccount portal you will be able to see a breakdown of each day’s charges.
