2025 Solar Performance Paves Way for Clean Power
Renewable solar energy is set to outperform coal in Texas for the first time this year. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) recorded monumental growth in solar power output in 2025—a 44% increase since 2024.
Although the year’s solar performance is not enough for the state to switch completely from fossil fuel and coal-fire energy, it is a promising path forward to keep up with the rising energy demand across the state.
