Texas Power Grid Still Weak Against Extreme Weather

A federal report indicates the Texas power grid may not be able to withstand extreme winter weather in peak demand, with only marginal improvements since the catastrophic February 2021 storm that knocked out power for millions across the state. Texas officials at ERCOT say the report contains errors and assure residents the grid is reliable and “ready for anything.” The report verifies the state has enough power capacity for typical cold weather.
