Job Summary
The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, follow-up and follow-through on all activities pertaining to the recruiting, sourcing, interview, selection, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new employees in addition to other duties within the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities
- Staffing Planning: Consults with hiring managers to understand the requirements, duties, qualifications desired for vacant positions. Acts as a member of the Staffing Committee.
- Culture Index: Is the “quarterback” (coordinator) for the Culture Index program and processes.
- Applicant Pipeline: Works with managers to keep applicant pipeline up-to-date and applicable.
- Website Careers Page: Works with Marketing to keep the PLP Careers page on the website up-to-date, fresh, and dynamic.
- Applicant Tracking: Keep applicant tracking systems and processes updated and relevant.
- Recruiting: Coordinate and manage all aspects of the recruiting process – sourcing, candidate identification, prescreening, interviews, offer letters, pre-boarding including references and background screens, onboarding, new hire orientation, follow up, and employee surveys
- Forms and Documents: Keep all documents associated and related to recruiting, pre-boarding, onboarding, and new hires updated and compliant with laws and regulations.
- New Hire Orientation: Work with existing HR staff to complete new hire orientation.
- HRIS System: Works with other HR staff to keep the HRIS system updated – forms, documents, training, etc.
- Administration: Keep all class files and other required documentation on the recruiting efforts, applicants, candidates and new hires compliant with laws and regulations.
- Participation: Offer ideas and feedback to the HR team and management on HR, recruiting and other relevant topics.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understands laws and regulations pertaining to employment, hiring and related areas. Keep such knowledge up-to-date and relevant by attending education events, seminars and keeping or completing HR or talent acquisition certifications.

Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Bilingual English/Spanish would be ideal
- Thorough understanding and application of employment laws and regulations such as EEO and ADA and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Experience with HRIS systems required. Experience with Paychex systems, a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills

- Critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Ability to present material and conduct meetings in a professional and thorough manner to all levels within the Company
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Culture Index a plus
- Works with a sense of urgency, at times fast paced, while maintaining professionalism
- Must have a great work ethic – punctuality and attendance is critical
Education and Experience
- Minimum two years’ experience as a fast-paced recruiter/talent acquisition
- Experience managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process
- Customer Service and Sales call center recruiting a plus
- Experience recruiting management and executive positions a plus
- Minimum three years human resources experience
- SHRM’s Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged periods of speaking via telephone
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate each department
- Must be able to effectively use office equipment – computer, scanner, telephone, printer, door access
